Ignite Conversations

Suzanne Stevens was invited as the keynote lunch speaker to the Consulting Engineers of Ontario’s (CEO) Annual General Meeting, held June 5th, 2008 in Toronto, Ontario. Suzanne’s keynote address, entitled “Differentiation is in the Eye of the Beholder” spoke directly to core communication skills specifically geared towards the changes and evolution of the Consulting Engineering Industry. Her address was presented to the CEO membership, focusing on the world of differentiating one’s self as a Consulting Engineer, as well as differentiating the firm and its services.

In keeping with Ignite Excellence’s commitment to the consulting engineering industry, Ignite Excellence donated two days of training to Engineers Without Borders (EWB), on June 19th & 20th, 2008. Current and future leaders of the not-for-profit organization were put through their paces in Ignite Excellence’s Presentation Excellence Program. During the program, participants learned how to prepare and deliver a presentation that engages an audience and moves them to action.

In 2003, Suzanne Stevens, President & Founder of Ignite Excellence Inc., and Bruce MacLellan, President of Environics Communications Inc. (ECI), decided to partner after Environics had hired Suzanne to train its team. After realizing the value in developing the ECI team, Bruce felt that supporting Suzanne in the training & development business world would be a good complement to the Environics Group of Companies.

Suzanne Stevens was invited to speak at the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPA)’s Practical and Interactive Conference, in Toronto, Ontario on May 21st, 2008. The session focused on “Business Skills: Critical Capabilities Conference Series Building HR Credibility”. The conference was geared towards improving communications between Human Resource Professionals and their C-suite clients.
